French Door Refrigerator With Ice Maker Review

Combining form and functionality, French-door refrigerators have stylish double doors that open to an expansive fridge on the top and a freezer drawer beneath. These refrigerators stand out due to their unique features, including through-the-door dispensers as well as higher-end Ice makers.

We sought out experts like Ladina Schopf, an interior designer, architect, and founder of LS Projects, for tips on choosing the right model. They considered the capacity of storage, layout and energy efficiency as well as other factors.

GE Profile Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

Like the name suggests, GE's Profile series is targeted at consumers who want to incorporate cutting-edge technology in their kitchen. This fridge is loaded with features, from an in-the-door Keurig K-cup coffee maker to a clever water dispenser. But these flourishes don't mask mediocre performance, especially in the refrigerator's freezer and an ineffective temperature-controlled drawer. The refrigerator is expensive and I was expecting better.

This fridge is a great choice, despite the blip. It has a huge freezer compartment, which is unusual for counter-depth French-door fridges. It also holds plenty of frozen food items compared to other models.

The fridge is equipped with 17 shelves and compartments. The fridge compartment offers 18.5 cubic feet of space, which is about the same as a French door fridge that costs this much. It comes with a decent size icemaker in the left door. However, it's not the largest one I've seen.

You can alter the shelves in both compartments to create a a custom storage solution. The interior design of the GE PYE22PYNFS is stylish, too. The LED lighting adds a nice feature. The in-door storage bins have a third shelf which can be folded down to store tall items. The drawers have temperature controls that let you set them to Meat, Beverage or Deli settings. They're easy to open and close, however I found their textured plastic coatings a bit rough on the fingers.

The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator has all the features you would expect from a refrigerator in this price range. It has Wi-Fi as well as app support and GE's SmartHQ Software. The app is available on iOS and Android devices and allows you to control your refrigerator from anywhere across the globe. It also has numerous options for customizing. It also sends you notifications when the door is left unlocked and when the freezer or fridge needs to be defrosted, and when the filter needs to be changed.

It is nice if the GE PYE22PYNFS came with Precise Fill, an option available in a handful of other GE fridges that allows you to set the number of cups of water you'd like to disperse at a time. It does offer a countdown on the fridge display to display how much water you have remaining, but that's not as effective as Precise Fill.

Bosch Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

Created to appear like a seamless part of your kitchen Bosch's French door refrigerator is an eye-catching piece. The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. It also comes with a veggie compartment that helps keep vegetables and fruits fresher longer, and two compressors for the best food preservation. The ice maker we tested is one of the most efficient, and it produces pyramid shaped ice using minimal water. This fridge is perfect for a single family or a kitchenette that wants an elegant design and top of the highest quality food preservation.

This refrigerator was rated as the best in our Refrigerators Test for a variety of reasons. Its freezer temperatures held firm at a level that was just above 0 degrees Fahrenheit, never changing more than a fraction a degree--this is key to avoiding freezer burn. The fridge's refrigerator section also performed well, reaching the desired initial set temperature within a matter of hours and keeping the temperature constant over the course of our testing.

Bosch is known for its high-end appliances which is why it's no surprise that this counter depth refrigerator is also a smart appliance that has the option of connecting to your home Wi-Fi network and Bosch's Home Connect platform. This app lets you monitor and control your fridge from your tablet or smartphone. The refrigerator is expensive, however it has top-quality features and functions for the price.

It is important to know the limitations of your fridge. You may need to get inventive with tall items since the fridge has a limited shelf space. The shelves are not impervious to spills and could easily be stained or damaged by sharp items. It's easy to remove the refrigerator trays However, be sure to clean them regularly to prevent the growth of mold.

If you're thinking of buying this refrigerator, make sure to read our reviews of the French Door GE Appliances Refrigerator as well as the Bosch Bottom Freezer Refrigerator.

LG Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

The LG LRFLC2706S counter-depth fridge is a great option for those who need a lot of space in the space of a compact frame. It has a sleek, fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish and features thick handles that make them comfortable to grip. Inside, the refrigerator has the standard French-door layout, with gallon-sized bins for the doors on each door as well as two rows of spill-capture shelves and a set of more spacious drawers. The top shelf on the right side can be folded to provide more space for tall items. There's also a full-width storage drawer for products from the deli and an inside water dispenser.

This refrigerator is equipped with an ice maker making it easy to transfer the frozen ice as needed. The freezer also comes with innovative design features like sliding drawers that allow you to organize your items. It also has a large bin that can hold plenty of frozen food items and an additional storage bin for ice.

Another great feature of this refrigerator is its Smart InstaView panel. It lets you control the temperature of your fridge and lighting using your smartphone.  french door fridge and freezer 's a great way to monitor and manage your refrigerator, particularly if you're away from home.

The Smart InstaView feature is neat but it doesn't enhance the efficiency of the fridge. This fridge took longer to chill food and defrost it than other models we tested. This is likely due to the bigger capacity.

The doors are another problem with this fridge. They have handles that are sunken at the front, which allows shorter people to easily pull them open from the bottom, but they're not easy for taller people to guide closed without slamming them. It would have been much better to have front-mounted handles.

The LG Counter-Depth MAX is a good choice for those who want to combine the benefits of a fridge with a French door with a more efficient layout. It has a capacity that is superior to counter-depth models and is able to cool evenly. It's also a bit less than the best counter-depth refrigerator with an ice maker, which helps make it a popular choice.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

If you're looking for an French door fridge that doesn't break the bank, this Frigidaire is a great choice. It's a basic fridge that might not be as eye-catching like some of its competitors however it has enough features to make it a suitable choice. Its most important feature is the temperature adjustable drawer, which helps keep foods such as meat and vegetables fresher for longer. It also comes with a large ice maker as well as a water dispenser.

The "Chill Drawer", which is situated above the two crisper bins, is another great feature. This drawer lets you divert a portion of the fridge's cooling power directly to this area, which means you can put away food items that require extra attention. This feature is adjustable using an outside slider that is located inside the drawer. You can also alter the general cooling settings for the entire fridge. I have found that the generic settings are more effective than the specific ones.

During my tests, I found that the temperatures of the refrigerator were fairly consistent in various parts of the refrigerator. The temperatures in the top, bottom and middle of the refrigerator did not differ much from 38 degrees. This is a pretty good performance, but it doesn't quite be among the top in our rankings.

This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. This fridge can be connected with a smart thermostat in order to get more accurate readings on the internal temperature of your fridge.

The Frigidaire FGHB2866PF's outside is made of stainless steel with a grey body which has a "smudge-proof" finish. It blocks streaks and fingerprints better than other stainless steel finishes I've seen.
